Marineline has two primary businesses. First, it works alone or with other boat brokers to specifically make a market for used pleasure trawlers and other "marketable" diesel powered boats. As a market maker, Marineline will acquire and sell or hold boats awaiting sales seasonality factors or vessels needing repairs, conversion, freshening or upgrading. Many brand name boats will typically sell in a few months or usually less than a year. Special boats can and do frequently take longer. Having been owners of a Marine Trader trawler for 25 years with both light and serious sea duty, we are convinced of the merit of these boats at sea and in the "market."

A second activity is the sale or completion of an existing steel hull built initially as a trawler or crab commercial fishing vessel but the hull was never completed. Because especially of national fleet reduction programs and turmoil in several important fisheries, this hull will probably should be developed to some other application. Besides being built heavy for serious commercial use, it is beautiful - wineglass shape, tumblehome, canoe stern, sweeping bow lines, and a bulbous bow for further efficiency. As a steel fabricator, and builder of commercial steel boats, we are also convinced of the merit of steel vessels for both pleasure and commercial use.

Our principal location is at a historic waterfront property at Cathlamet that is being slowly restored for both commercial and residential purposes. Historically Bristol Bay Gillnetters built of wood then fiberglass were built here and then specialty steel tugs. The facilities are appropriately equipped for both boat storage and fabrication in the water or on the hard.

Charlotte and Ron Seaberg are the property guardians and have been for the past 20 years. While finance and computers are their lifelong careers, they are principal restorers (past, present, and for as long as God willing - future) of the property incorporating commercial grade wood construction and steel fabrication.
