We have had this vessel for 6 years. It was obtained at a government auction in Long Beach, CA. It had been arrested while fishing "illegally" 20 miles west of California and had a partial load of fish - 50 tons of tuna, swordfish, other miscellaneous species.

When arrested the boat went under its own power to Long Beach and the fish were unloaded. The vessel rested in Long Beach for 2 years while undergoing legal proceedings.

Fu Shing was then purchased in excellent running condition, and run up the coast to Rainier, Oregon. It was a great non-stop trip in seas of 20' to 25" for much of the trip.

The vessel had the main engine replaced 1989 - a 1000 Negata (Japanese) diesel - 6 cylinder, turning a 6' 4 blade prop at approximately 390 rpm via 6" jack shaft driven hydraulic transmission. Parts look to be knockoffs of Mitsubishi engines. This main engine must be repaired / re-built or replaced.
